About
Secret Door Flowers is a flower farm and florist in the Yorkshire Dales, established in 2020. We grow exceptional flowers and foliage for weddings, events, subscriptions and gifting. We have been using entirely sustainable floristry methods for seven years and use regenerative growing practices, with our central focus on maintaining soil health, minimising carbon footprints, conserving water and reducing and effectively managing our waste.
We have half an acre under production, including a small walled garden and a sunny field. Given our compact size, Beth Chatto’s principle of ‘right plant, right place’ has never been more important. Shady corners which are not suitable for annuals will happily host perennials such geums and astilbes and our rows of foliage trees are underplanted with narcissi.
Our primary business is providing wedding flowers for local brides, including our popular ‘DIY buckets’, bouquets, wearables and venue arrangements. We also offer Friday morning flower subscriptions and supply local businesses, wedding florists, sustainable funerals and film sets.
Our story
Natasha’s love for flowers began growing up in rural West Yorkshire where it was impossible to ignore the seasonal shifts in the meadows and hedgerows. Decades later, after city life in London and Singapore, where seasons are barely perceptible, she was determined to return to the Yorkshire countryside and embrace the British seasons.
Keen to live near family and give their young children more space, Natasha and her husband swapped their postage stamp London garden for a larger project in the Yorkshire Dales. Several years of juggling desk jobs and garden rejuvenation later, it was a natural step to use the space productively and grow flowers for others to enjoy.
Our style
Our bouquets reflect a natural, garden gathered style where each flower has its space to dance. We love to use fragranced flowers, herbs and ornamental grasses whenever we can.
Secret Door Flowers is proud to be a member of Flowers from the Farm.
